Since i was 6 years old i'm a big fan of russian team Spartak (Moscow). This team is ninefold Russia's champion (since 1992 when 1st championat started). Now they suck - they lost in last 3 games. 1 or 2 years ago there was argenteene player Fernando Cavenaghi - very promising player, But he played only 20 or 25 games for 2 years - not so much for great player.
I know many players from Argentina - Gabriel Batistuta, Diego Maradona, Pablo Aymar, Juan Sebastian Veron, Hernan Crespo etc.
My favorite player is Marco van Basten amongst others

i dont know too many russian players besides arshevin and paluychenko ... i saw arshevin first at the euros and that guy is good .... i hope tottenhem buys him and i get to see him in action ....

Hi Headfist! I consider myself a big fan of football, i mean, playing im like pinochio, but i enjoy watching every match on tv and going to the stadium.

I can't stand why no one has mentioned the best soccer team from Argentina yet: Boca Juniors
Maradona, Batistuta, Caniggia and Tévez among others have played for Boca in the past years... even Thierry Henry when interviewed by a local magazine said he was attracted to our colors (blue & gold)
A friend of mine (we played together in highschool and Argentino de Quilmes) was going to play for Lokomotiv but due to a heart condition he failed to pass the medical exam... Matheu.. you might have heard about it.
I also support AC Milan... at least is the team I always choose at PES Ronaldo (the fat one) rulez

yes, you're right. There are 5 football teams in Moscow - Spartak, Lokomotiv, CSKA, FC Moscow and Torpedo. And fans of each team are enemies. It's sad, but this is historical tradition in Miscow - if you suport 1 team, you must hate all others

all the biggest rivalries in football are between teams from the same city
these are called derby matches...
for eg .
liverpool - everton
inter - ac milan
celtic - rangers
arsenal - tottenham (chelsea rose to fame much later )
i guess river and boca both are based in the city BSAS ......
